Every now and then, I'll experience something that I call "Groomer's Block." It's when I just seem to *forget* how I usually do a certain part of a breed or group for a few weeks! It might be Yorkie heads, or Shih-Tzu faces, or belly line trims on drop coated breeds, etc. This time it's Poodle ears! My default Poodle ear is of the rounded-bottom variety, and I've lost my shape. Please help! These ears are just not looking right to me. I need advice from other groomers (or what the heck, I'll take it from pet owners!) about what I need to change. Am I trimming the ear too short in the back? Do I need to bevel the inside/outside edges? Is it just fine and I'm crazy for thinking otherwise? I've just lost my ear and can't figure it out... Help! ALL comments, suggestions, and tips will be appreciated. Here is an example featuring the lovely Rojo. I was just very unhappy with these ears:
